He took a peek to his left at the books on the shelf nearest to him, and found what he was looking for right away, for a change: just beside his left ear was a large, heavy book, with the phrase Theory of Human Transfiguration written in golden letters across its spine. He grinned and retrieved the book from the shelf, holding it in front of him. Eventually and just as he had expected, Mandy was standing right in front of him, and caught sight of the book in his hands.

“Are you taking that –” she said, but stopped dead in her tracks the moment she raised her head and realized who she was talking to. “Oh, not you again!” she moaned.

“No, I’m actually not taking the book,” Sirius answered, ignoring her last comment. At once, Amanda made a grab for Theory of Human Transfiguration. But Sirius was too quick for her. “However,” he continued, raising his arm high up in the dusty air of the library so that the book was out of her reach. “I may take it out if you don’t sit down and talk to me,” he finished saying this with a gesture towards two chairs standing at the end of the passage.
